Rainbows End

This is for my Blog Bingo. It is about when I went to Rainbows End for a party.

I went to rainbows end and this is the rollercoaster, I am not in that photo. It was for my friends party. Then we went to the fair fall. I had never been on it before but was really excited. It goes up really high and then suddenly drops down. So when we were a quarter way up I said ''we should be close to the top'' and then looked up ''or not''!! When we reached the top I got really scared "1, 2,  3,   4,  5.'' I said. straight away we went down and then stopped "what happe... AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG"

screamed Augustine. We had shot down, in three seconds we were back on the ground and we did it again."1, 2, 3, 4, 5,"we all counted, then we dropped down and stopped ''3, 2, 1."We said and down we went, that time it hurt my head. Then we went to the invader. The invader spins around at the same time as going up and down. It is really fun and not scary. We had some food like the birthday cake and then we went back on all the rides. My favourite ride was the roller coaster but I don't like the part just before the loopty-loop. I like the loopty-loop though. I love Rainbows End. Or maybe if you have been to Rainbows end before tell me about it- How old were you and did you like. What was your favourite ride? My List Of Sciene All Around Me

This is for my homework. My challenge is to find as many different ways in which science is happening all around us. I have to Make a list and describe the processes. These are mine.

1. Walking to school.
2. Listening to music.
3. The TV. We can now watch cartoons and the news on a big screen.
4. Internet. People used to have to search it up in encyclopaedias.
5. Computers. It is electronic.
6. I phones. They are electronics.
7. Radio. We can listen to the news.
8. Microwave. They used to have to warm up their food over a fire.
9. Freezers. Before our defrosting freezers people had to scrape out the frost from the freezers.
10. Fridge. Now we can keep our food cold.
11. Oven. It used to be over a fire now we use gas.
12. X-rays. Now the dentist can check your teeth and the doctors can check your bones.
13. Hospital gear. Now the doctors can use devices and special machines.
14. Cars. The cars are moving to electric rather than petrol.
15. Digital watches. We now don't have to rewind the clock everyday and we use very thin batteries.  
16. Lights. Lights now use electricity so we don't have to keep using matches.
17. Solar panels. All you have to do now is put them under the sun.
18. Weed killer. Scientifically formulated to kill weeds and let the grass grow.
19. Medicine.  We don't have to use plats anymore.
20. Robots. Scientifically made so we don't have to do things our selves.
21. Traffic lights. They make less crashes.
22. Magnifying glass. It helps read small words from a further distance.
23. Windows. They allow to keep the warmth in and still be able to see through.
24. Ear phones. You can listen to anything on your phone without other people hearing.
25. Head phones. You can listen to anything on a computer without other people hearing.
26. Phones. You can talk to people that are far away from you.
27. Toilet paper. Toilet paper used to be used with leaves and stones.
28. Pens. People used brush and ink.
29. White boards. People used to use chalk boards.
30. White board pens. People used to use chalk. 
31. Smart boards. Now we can show lots of people at the same time off a big screen rather than a small screen on a computer.
32.  Paper. People used to write on fresh bamboo.
33. Wax. Scientist made wax for candles.
34. Mirrors. They reflect off the sun.
35. Water purifier. The scientist made a machine that makes seawater or salty water into plain drinking water.
36. Calculator. It was to hard for them to do it in their head.
37. Torches. People use it for light instead of using fires and torches. (Also lamps as well).
38. Washing machine powder. Scientifically formulated to get dirt and stains off clothes.
39. Power lines. They transport electricity.
40. Aeroplanes. They have aluminium wings. The pilot also has to work out how much fuel in the wings, that is science.
41. Air Conditioning. It uses science to work out if the air conditioner needs hot or cold air.
42. Opening heavy jars. It uses power and energy.

Day 4

                       Monday                        12.4.15


Dear Diary,
I woke up this morning still feeling a little sad. I remembered we were leaving today. Dad said we would have a bumpy ride home. I pulled up the blind. The sun came through the window and guess what I could see right there????




Mt Cook!!!!!!!I couldn't believe it. Nice sunny day with Mt Cook right in front of me. "Click click click". We all took some photos. Wow. My mum decided to go on a walk so we could see it a bit closer. So we got in the rental car had breakfast at the buffet and drove off to the path way. It was just a little frosty and slippery on the wooden swinging bridges. We had to hold on tight or we would slip. The walk was quite long and we finally reached the end. It was beautiful, we could see lots of ice-bergs coming out of the lake. We got lots of photos there and it was about time to head back. When we were heading back we heard a boom. "Avalanche" screamed my sister Annabelle. Dad said it was thunder but it was really sunny, maybe it was a land fall. We were in a rush because we had to get back to the airport at night and we still had a 4 hour drive.


Dad drove us down to a place that had some other things to look at. Dad stayed in  the car and we went to the blue lake. When we got there I couldn't see it but mum was pointing to it. There was a greenish brownish lake. Why did they call it the blue lake?? We went to the glacier lake. There was a grey lake with lots of icebergs in it. We rushed back to the car to and we were ready for a four hour drive. I was feeling excited to get back in the warmth at Auckland but I enjoyed Christchurch so much and there was so much pretty views but the only thing I wanted was it to snow. As soon as we got to lake Tekepo it started snowing. I was freezing cold. It had been such a long drive and we had finally reached the airport. I was feeling quite sad. I was going to miss everyone like Sofia and Daniela and Maria, Simon and aunty Gael as well. We got on our plane and had a very bumpy ride home. We booked a taxi and were home in no time.








                                        

                                        

Day 3

                                      Sunday           12.4.15




Dear Diary,


Today after we woke up we had breakfast at the restaurant, said goodbye to every one, packed up and  we were on our way to Mt Cook. It was about a three hour drive there. When we finally found our motel and we put everything inside. It was freezing cold (well I was out side Mt Cook and lots of mountains anyway).
We rung a shuttle bus to come and take us to the shops. It was snowy and there was ice everywhere. Our rental car had lots of frost on it and there was big frosty puddle on the road. We had a very little chance of seeing Mt Cook. Only one out of 50 days you can see Mt Cook and it was really cloudy. I was now feeling a bit sad. We took a three hour drive for nothing with a four hour drive going to the airport tomorrow. All we could see was some mountains. Dad said it was snowing up at the top of all those mountains. Annabelle and I had been waiting for it to snow. We were thinking about building snowmen. It was really warm inside.
We went into all the shops and when we got out it was almost dinner time. The shuttle bus came to pick us up and took different motel. We had dinner there. It was getting late and the shuttle bus was to busy so we had to wait a while for it. But it was easy to find something to do. There was a TV room we looked at the ice-cream. It was sadly to cold to play outside. The shuttle bus was finally able to come. We jumped in and it took us back to the house. We brushed our teeth and went to bed.

Day 2

                               Saturday   11.4.15


Dear Diary,




Todays the wedding!!!! I am so excited but nervous at the same time. We had breakfast and went straight to the girls house in our onesies. Daniela and Sofia (the other two flower girls) where already there.


We all watched TV for a while and then we dressed up into our flower girl dresses and then we where nearly ready for the wedding ceremony. Somebody did our make up and we were ready. "What if I did something wrong?????" I thought. The van took us to the foyer of the hall. Every one was already inside and Simon was already waiting there.


 "Go" said the lady that took us there. So my sister (Annabelle) and I went first than Daniela and Sofia. We threw out pretty pink petals and lined up at the end all the bridesmaids came after us and finally Maria and Aunty came down. Maria was very pretty. Then the wedding had begun. We stood in a line with our pretty white dresses on and we had our baskets with bubbles and petals. Then the wedding finished.


  We went outside to have some food and got some photos. All of us, flower girls went out side and played in the grass and got our white shoes green. We had to go inside and wash them. The grass stains didn't really come off though. We went down a hill and found the van. It was Maria, Simon, the bridesmaids and the grooms. They were there getting photos with the photographer and we got to be in some too!! It was nearly dinner so we went upstairs. There was names on the tables for where we were sitting. I was sitting really close to Sofia so we played on my mums phone. Finally the entrée came around.  We finally got our mains and Annabelle, Sofia Daniella and I went to play hide and seek. We went upstairs for dessert. The candle wax had melted so we made shapes out of it and let it dry. Then it was bed time.
