"YAY!!!!" Today I got a letter saying I was in the gymnastics team for school. I'm really delighted. This means I have practices in the weekends and also at school time. We will go to Eastern Suburbs gym to train and then there will be a competition. If we come first, second or third we go to champs of champs and verse the others who won. I signed in, in year three and four and we made it to champs of champs both times. This time I will be in a different and higher group. Last year I was a Springer (year 3 and 4), this year I will be a flyer (year 5 and 6). I have the school leotard and can't wait at all.
Here is some facts of gymnastics,
The gym has different apparatus like floor, beam, vault and bar. Gymnastics as a sport has been around for 2,000 years. Vaults were not used in ancient gymnastics; instead they used bulls to jump over. Gymnastics were introduced at the 1896 Olympics. In the Olympics only men can compete in the Rings, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bars, and Pommel Horse. In the Olympics only women can compete in the Balance Beam and Uneven Bars. Both men and women can compete in the Floor Exercise and Vault competition in the Olympics.
If you want to try,
There are many types of gymnastics to try; Artistic, Rhythmic, Acrobatic, Aerobic, Trampolining and Tumbling. To me I like artistic gym and rhythmic. Artistic gymnastics is normal and rhythmic is with balls, hoops and ribbons. Gymnastics is such a graceful sport which requires lots of hard work and determination. It has improved my balance, strength and speed. I go to a gymnastics club every Thursday and each time we learn new skills on the beam, bars, floor and vault. I recommend gymnastics to small (the smaller the more flexible) children that are interested in gymnastics or cheer leading.
Hi my name is Olivia but I am called Livi by all my friends and classmates. On this blog I will share my learning with you and tell you about what is going on in my days at school, in the weekends and in the holidays too. Enjoy and comment!!

How It Snows -A Cloudy Lesson
Did you know that when it is cloudy, right above you are hundreds of cloud men (and ladies) doing their chores for King Cloud. He is the king of the clouds and a very strict man, so strict that if you did not finish you chores in 5 minutes he would drop you off the cloud and you would have to live with humans. Cloud men and ladies do not like humans and none of them have achieved getting back up (because it is probably impossible). So they are working really hard up there scooping up dirt and when the dirt falls it turns white and turns into snow-remember snow, the white and cold stuff you used to eat? Well any ways that is snow and you have been eating it. Yuck, but back to the story, those cloud men are your enemies. Tell them to stop and they will do it more and they are the only people you lie at. One day a family got thrown own and they were the best workers. That family (family Rumble) helped everyone if they could not finish. Isabella (their mum), Michael (their dad), Sophie(their sister) and Milly(their little sister) were heroes and did nearly all the chores but since they were gone down down down, everyone had to their own things and only some could do it. It was so hard to do this without the family Rumble. Until one day "Here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"The cloud men and ladies all heard. They all recognised that voice, then suddenly Isabella, Michael, Sophie and Milly popped up from the bottom of the clouds, the superheroes could fly!! They came back up to help. This is why no one falls off the clouds any more, because the family pleaded the King. Now when it is cold they throw down the dirt and it turns to snow.

The Catch
In a village called The Catch a boy named Ben lived with his family and friends. One day the village was getting low on food. Ben was told to go fishing for food. He was sitting very still feeling very bored until there was a shake on his hook. Ben was happy and pulled out the rope and a little baby fish was caught. Feeling very disappointed Ben put his fish down in the basket and was determined to get more for his village. Suddenly he heard a squeal, he put down his rod and ran to see what had happened. A fox was caught in a trap. He was more and more determined to get it so he got out his knife and cut the rope. The fox seemed angry and Ben was terrified, the fox pushed Ben over and ran away. When Ben stood up he looked dizzy. He got up to go back and was confused, the fox was playing next to the basket. All of a sudden the fox jumped in and got the little fish and started to run away. Ben was annoyed and looked back at his village, they needed food so Ben was really brave and decided to run after the fox. They up some hills around corners and reached a cliff. They climbed up and when Ben was nearly at the top his hat fell off. He looked back and watched it fall down, he was so angry but needed his food, he kept on running and finally caught the fox. Then a bright raise of sun shined other and a big or humongous fish jumped up and down. Ben was happy, excited and surprised. The fox gave him a stick and Ben tied a rope and his hook to it. He was so thankful after he had caught the humongous fish and gave the fox his old and small fish he walked happily along the path and the fox turned back to a star.

Key competency goals
One of my key competency goals were tidy desk. I think I have improved on this because I know have a tidier desk so I can find things.
The other one was when to lead and when to follow. I have achieved this goal by letting others to lead but allowing myself to get a chance too.
Math goal
My math goal is division facts fast and I think I have achieved this goal by going on Mathletics and I can usually think of the answer straight away. I did a test with Miss Cooper and I think I have improved.
Reading goal
My reading goal is accuracy, I think I have improved on my goal because I am not finding much hard words any more but if I do find some tricky words I can work out how to say it.
Writing goal
My writing goal is advanced punctuation. I think I have achieved this goal because in my story's I like using ?!-():; and some more. My teacher has been commenting on my work.

Harold
Today was awesome!!! My class got to see Harold the giraffe for the second time this year. Who is Harold? Harold is a puppet who lives in a mobile classroom. We also found out that we need a mobile classroom as well. The mobile class room is a big truck. On the inside there is lots of boards controlled by one little I-pod, well that is what I think it is. It is really cosy inside the classroom.
Who is the teacher? The teacher is Lynn. She is really nice. She is in charge of everything inside. We also do learning inside the classroom (of course). There is one thing that I want you all to know, THINK BEFORE YOU SAY. Lynn even made up this acrostic poem thing.
T is for True.
H is for Helpful.
I is for Important.
N is for Necessary.
K is for Kind.
First when we got there we took off our shoes because Harold's carpet had been cleaned. We sat down in rows of 3 so there was still a little pathway to walk through. Next a boy in my class, Donavan got chosen to do a messy activity. None of us knew what he going to do, Lynn only said it was messy. Then Lynn came up holding a packet of toothpaste and a clip board. I had no idea of what he had to do. Finally Lynn started explain. "So" she said. "Donavan is going to splat all the toothpaste on the paper and then make a drawing out of the toothpaste." Donavan squirted on the toothpaste and started to draw a smiley face. It didn't really turn out but he did a really good job. After that Donavan had to true put the toothpaste back in the tube in its stripes. No one could do it. This was to say when you've said something you can't take it back.
We had some really long but really fun lessons learning about what choices to make and what drinks not to drink. Finally at the end we got to see Harold. We had a disco party with him and got the party lights. When ever the song said shooting stars, stars appeared on the ceiling. It was awesome. The lunch bell rang and we sadly walked out of the class and headed for lunch. We can't wait for Harold to come again!!

The Clocktower
Once upon a time there lived a lady called Maggie. Maggie was really excited, she was pregnant and was giving birth in a few days. She was having a girl named Charlotte. Maggie didn't have a husband and died when giving birth. Charlotte was sent to a nice lady or who the doctors thought was a nice lady at a really weird and dull tower. The lady went to work every day and left Charlotte alone. One day when the lady was at work, Charlotte had an idea. She was going to Make some things out of wood with the knife in the corner. First Charlotte cut a doughnut shape and then cut squares off it. It looked like a spinning thing. Charlotte did lots more of them and she stuck them on the walls and things like that. The world turned colourful when she was happy and dull when she was sad. She started growing up and was six years old. She stood in the middle of the shapes and swirled around when she was happy.
