Squiggle Story-My Dream Birthday!

It was Saturday at 5 o'clock in the morning when I woke up. I was turning 10. I was really excited because it was my birthday. I was going to the amusement park for my very very own birthday party. Yay!! I got on my favorite clothes and ran downstairs. My mum and dad were getting my party ready. "happy birthday" they said. "Thanks" I said. I ran up and down the hallway feeling as excited as someone who just got a new pet. "EVERYBODY", I shouted "WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY. My sister came down and gave me my present and my parents gave me more presents. I didn't open them because I saved them for when my friends came over. Hours later my friends came over and a limo took us on a speedy trip to the amusement park. My 8 friends followed me to the party room. We went on the roller coaster and the fear fall, which is where  you go up really high and then suddenly drop down. It was about an hour and a half until present time. I got some awesome presents. We had some food and cake and I made my wish then we got to spend the rest of our party time on all the games. But then sadly all my friends had to leave. I gave them my party bags and said good bye. "Goodbye!!"

Shanghainese

There is lots of dialects in China like Mandarin, Taiwanese, Cantonese, Fu Zhou and Shanghainese.
I am going to talk about Shanghainese.

Shanghainese has been around for 700 years. There is now even different types of Shanghainese

and in most dialects there are four tones, in Shanghainese there is 7. It is mostly spoken in Shanghai. In 2013 23.9 million people spoke Shanghainese and in July 2014 the population was 1,355,692,576. That's a lot of people. Shanghainese and Mandarin are very close some words are still the same, though Shanghai still has books, drama, folk songs, poems, riddles, tongue twisters, The News, and TV shows, so do we. The difference between Mandarin, English and Shanghainese is:

There is lots more differences but I would like to talk about these ones. When I say China doesn't have as much detail as New Zealand, you probably don't know what I mean. Well I mean when I say"him, he" in Chinese it is the same words. Do you know a Chinese person who speaks a little of English, and how many native English people do you know? Compare. Comment down below of your answer.

I hope you learnt a little about the Shanghai language. Here are some facts about Shanghai.

There is a building like the sky tower called the TV tower, which is 468 Metres tall and it was built in 1994.
It is the largest city in China.
Shanghai was originally a small fishing village with little hope of advancing past its swampy origins.

Science: Rainbows

What makes rainbows??
You might of thought once,

well the answer is water and sun!!

Turn the hose on, on a sunny day,
what do you get?
 "A rainbow" you say!!!!!!

Rainbows are colours usually in the sky formed by water and sun. It is arced shape, just like a semi circle. Well, actually, the rainbow is a full circle but from most peoples view off the ground they see a semi circle. Most rainbows we see in the sky now will be a "primary rainbow" where the colour red can be seen on the outside (top)  through to violet on the inside (bottom). A rainbow is not an object, it can't physically be touched or approached. A double rainbow is where a second, much fainter arc can be seen outside of the primary arc. This is caused by the light reflecting twice inside the water droplets. As a result of this double reflection the colours of the second arc are inverted with violet on the outer edge and red on the inner edge. did you know that no two people see the same rainbow, in fact even our individual eyes see slightly different rainbows. If someone appears to be standing under a rainbow you can see, they will see a different rainbow at the same angle but further away. Isn't that amazing? It has the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. To see a rainbow you must have your back to the sun or it won't be visible. Did you know you can never get to the end of a rainbow, when you move the rainbow moves too.

The Black Book

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!! I'm back to tell you another amazing adventure I've had on top of the clouds. Oh, Wait, you don't know about that. But today I was climbing my favourite tree and I saw this ladder going up into clouds so I thought I would go up and see what was up there. Well the very second I piked my head up the hole a big wind swept me off the ladder and I went flying in the air and BOOM I landed on a hard concrete ground. I didn't what happened but I was not on Earth. That was for sure. It felt as I had almost gone back in time to the first century. Everything went black and white and I was felt really dizzy. But I stood up anyways to have a look around. I called to anyone "hello?" But there was no reply. Where was I? Suddenly I saw a big book, a big black book. Did that mean someone had been here before? I shouted another hello, but there was still no reply. I was really curious. The book was called, DO NOT OPEN THIS BOOK. So I was about to walk away when I saw a really bright flash come from the book which made me determined to open it. I picked up the book and took it with me still wondering around. But it kept flashing so I opened the book and BOOM, POW, POOF and the land on top of the clouds moved and everything turned colourful and trees grew and it looks pretty familiar to me. It looked like my garden but I knew that I was still on the clouds. Then something really surprising happened, lots of people came and it was a happy village. I made lots of friends but soon they said they had to leave, but I understood, they needed other people and places too.
