My riddles

For my homework I have to write some riddles,

Try and guess what or who it is.

This is one I made with my class.

People look at me all the time
 I have a large vocabulary,
I can teach people a lot of new things,
I can be mysterious, funny, adventurous, romantic, scary, sad,
I tell stories,
I can take people to other worlds,
What am I?

Here are my ones,

I have ears but no eyes,

I can spread news,

I have numbers

What am I?

I have an eye,

I can not see,

I am small

I am sharp

What am I?

I am black,

Usually I am only seen at day time,

I move when you move,

What am I?

I am an instrument that you can hear, but you can not touch or see me.

What am I?

I am a small room,
but no one lives inside,
 Anytime I am very cold
 What am I?

I can be big,

I have something different to show every week.

If your there,

 You are either wide awake or asleep,

The more you dry,

The wetter I am,

I can be fluffy,

But not always

I am sharp,

I can change things slightly,

I have memories, but none are mine ,
whatever's is inside me is what is shown.
If I'm ever different it's because you changed me,

I'm tall when I'm young and I'm short when I'm old. What am I?

Everyday I stalk you all day long,
With every move you make, I will do the same.
I vanish twice a day with the sun's height and fall,

Dear 2016 year 5's

Dear 2016 year 5's,

Most of you 2015 year 4's will soon be going up to the second highest year level in the school. This means doing lots of fun activities like EOTC week, having responsibilities like bridging the gap, doing the speeches and fun things and lots, lots more. This also includes doing your last year of awesome garden to table.

In year 5 you will have Education Outside The Classroom or EOTC week. This such a fun week spending time with your friends all throughout year 5. It includes going on long walks or sometimes just playing games at school. You might even get to go to some really fun places we went too. But I don't want to ruin it for you so you will have to wait and find out what you are doing.

In year 5 and year 6 having responsibilities is very fun but important. This includes bridging the gap which is where you go to the junior side and either, look after juniors and solve their problems which is called duty. There is also games which is where you play games with the juniors and the last one you can choose out of is where you help and play with juniors who have problems or who struggle when doing things. You can do bridging the gap every term and it is really fun.

The last things we did in 2015 were really fun like assembly's, exhibitions, trips and much more. This year our assembly's were really fun for example our brain break assembly. We enjoyed that so much and we hope you did too. Also this year was the science exhibition. Some of the science was pretty cool. But next year we will have the art exhibition. Also we have speeches. Which is a mix of fun, boring and hard. If you do well you go into the school finals and then the zones and the Lions after that.

Overall being in year 5 is really fun because we have EOTC week, we have responsibilities, we have lots of fun things and much more. That also includes having awesome teachers!!

Orakei Sea Scouts

Hello Everyone!

 

Do any of you do Scouts or know about it?? Well if you don't, I'm here to tell you. Scouts is a World Wide Organisation where once a week, a group of children gather at their local scout hall with their leader ( A leader is kind of like a Teacher). There are many different types of scouts e.g. Land Scouts, Sea Scouts, Air Scouts.

 

I go to Orakei Sea Scouts, Orakei Sea Scouts is based on the edge of the beautiful Orakei Basin and has been operating for nearly 75 years, teaching boys and girls a love of the sea and sailing. At Orakei Sea Scouts, we learn and enjoy water activities, go camping, learn life & leadership skills and have fun! Since it is currently Spring, we go out Sailing or Kayaking. I love Sailing because I love the Water and going really fast ( when there's wind). Kayaking is also really fun but is super tiring for our arms.

 

In the Winter we, have Camp Fires and Toast Marshmallows, Learn Boat Theory, Learn First Aid and so much more. I think Scouts is a Fun and enjoyable thing for everyone to do. It teaches you Important Life Lessons and Survival Tips and I think that much more kids should get involved in doing it.

My End Of Year Reflection 2015

Overall, this year I have enjoyed Garden To Table, Bridging the gap and EOTC week. Next year I look forward to production and waterwise. This years biggest highlight was EOTC week because we got to climb Rangitoto Moutain, we got Youth Town and we got to go to the Waimarie hospital home, it’s fun. I’ve Improved on mu fluency in reading. I learn’t how to add and subtract decimals. My next step is to learn how to multiply decimals. Another fun thing this year was our awesome teacher, Miss Cooper!!

Halloween

Hello Everyone!!

 

I hope you all remembered that yesterday was Halloween! I did and it was AWESOME. At 6:00 in the evening, my friend Lilly arrived. We straight away got dressed into our costumes to go trick or treating as soon as we could. I was going to be a Pink Witch and Lilly was a Skeleton. As soon as we left, my older sister Annabelle and her friend came roaring down the drive. She and her friend Ella jumped out of the car and came rushing into the house. Then they emptied out their trick or treating bag from before and ran out to us. About 40 minutes later we had quite a big collection of lollies, we decided to keep on going to get as many as we could. Finally, at about 8 O'clock we headed back home. We counted up our stash of lollies and traded the ones we didn't like. I had over 90 lollies which I was pretty proud of. Then we all sat down for a dumplings dinner and enjoyed the rest of our night!!!
