My Trip to Snowplanet

Hello Everyone!

Yesterday I had a very fun day at Snowplanet. In case you don't know Snowplanet is an indoor snow centre. This is a inside view.

Snowplanet was built on a hill so you can ride the ski lift to the top and come down the hill. The hill has some jumps and many cool obstacles and I wasn't able to do all of them. At Snowplanet, you can ski, snowboard or toboggan down the toboggan ramp. If you are a beginner you can take the magic carpet which is kind of like a moving carpet to one quarter of the way up. The photo above is taken from the top of the magic carpet.

I was there with my Mum, Cousin and Sister and I went skiing and tobogganing but I can also snowboard as a beginner.
Here are some photos of me:

I highly recommend Snowplanet because it is heaps of fun and you can learn how to ski and snowboard.

Centenary

Who knows Meadowbank school?? Who use to go to Meadowbank school??? Most importantly, who went to the Meadowbank school centenary?? I know I did. It was fun celebrating Meadowbank school turning 100 on Saturday the 17th of October 2015.

We all met our teachers on the bottom court. The parents went to the library courts and we did the roll call. Then we met them up on the library courts on the stage. Then the maple dancers did their dance and their were quite a lot of speeches. Then we did the sing-a-long. We sung things like Yellow Submarine, Rockin' Robin, Its a long way to Tipperary, a Chinese song called Mo li hua or Jasmine flower, Ma is white, purple people eater, putting on the Ritz and Bingo. It was loads of fun and many past pupils from years back joined in and sung with us.

Then the oldest person there with the year 6's that were here for the longest got to cut the cake. Then we were dismissed and got to go. I stayed for a really long time. There was Mr Whippy as well. My sister and I helped in a store but soon we had to go home.

How am I special

Hi everyone, I am Olivia and I am special. In this explanation I will tell you how I am special and what makes me special. I am special because I am a team player, I am supportive and I am flexible in two ways.

Firstly I am a team player. Together Everyone Achieves More. I do lots of sports like gymnastics, sailing, netball, swimming, golf and dance. In netball I make sure everyone gets the ball. In swimming I make sure im not always at the front. This is one way I am special.

Secondly I am supportive. I love to cheer people on and shout things like " You can do it" and "don't give up!!" It is nice to be supportive. I help people when they are stuck. For example when I see people looking sad I help them or cheer them up.

I am flexible. I don't freak out when things go out of plan. When things happen I don't mind and keep calm. In another way I am flexible by gymnastics and sometimes cheer-leading. For example, my back is quite flexible.

Overall I think that everybody is special but I am special because I am a team player, I am supportive and I am flexible in two ways.

Jellyfish on Omaha

On Wednesday the 14th of October , Tamsin, Chayton and Sanda D. went to Omaha with the Cav family, Annabelle, Olivia and Mike. When they got there they went to the beach, which is where they usually boogie board. But it was just winter so it was too cold. The kids dug holes in the sand and underneath was some warm water, kind of like a Jacuzzi but in the sand.

The children were having so much fun and were splashing water at each other. But Annabelle pointed out that there was a jellyfish in the water. Tamsin said " It was really scary, we all jumped out."  In fright, Olivia stepped back and felt a disgusting squish. She lifted up her foot and saw a see through jellyfish with blue tentacles. " That was scary" Olivia said, " and it felt so gross".

After trying to keep away from the jellyfish but finding out that there were jellyfish blobs everywhere. The kids went to the water. Sadly there was jellyfish there too. It was nearly an hour and the kids were going home getting ready to tell the adults about their amazing jellyfish adventure.

The kids had fun telling the parents what had happened and they were amazed. They went there again just to show the parents. This time they saw a hole jelly fish that had just been stranded. 2 dogs ran up to them. The children tried to shoo the dogs away, but then the owner saw them and put them on a leash. After a long time of dodging jellyfish the children headed home.

What a day at the beach. The parents said they had never seen that before. Wow, jellyfish on Omaha!!!
